Hello book lovers!
This is the last post of the year and I’m kind of freaking out because the year went by so fast! I feel like we’re still in June! Anyway, since this is the last Saturday of the year and I won’t post again until January 4th, I want to wish you a happy New Year! I wish you the best always, I want you to be happy and proud of yourself. Thank you so much for your support so far, I really can’t express how much all of you mean to me.
I don’t want to get so emotional because I will start crying lol so let’s get into the wrap up!
The Bear and the Nightingale (Winternight Trilogy #1) by Katherine Arden
I had heard great things about this trilogy so I was really excited to get to it. I heard that it was a very winter-y read so I waited until December to read it. Sadly this book disappointed me because I was expecting something totally different. The synopsis doesn’t mention it, but I was looking forward to some romance and there wasn’t any. However, taking my expectations on that aspect aside, it was a very interesting read. The first half was kind of boring, but the second half really picks up and we get more action. I don’t think I will be reading the rest of the trilogy soon, but hopefully one day.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ (2.5)
Enemies by Tija
I saw someone on Instagram talking about this book and the synopsis sounded like something I could enjoy. And I did. However, the book didn’t become one of my favorites, but I enjoyed it a lot. I had some problems with how the story developed but overall the book was very good and it’s perfect for when you want to read a light and fast-read book.
Your Name by Makoto Shinkai
I wanted to watch this movie so badly but Netflix took down the movie in my country, but now it is available again. However I wanted to read the book or manga first. This story was heartbreaking but heartwarming at the same time. I have to confess I was reading at midnight and tears were running down my cheeks. So beautiful. And the movie was beautiful as well. If you haven’t watched or read Your Name, I highly encourage you to do it, you won’t regret it.
Geekerella (Once Upon a Con #1) by Ashley Poston
This book was so cute! It’s a very light, funny and easy to read story. I had this book on my Goodreads tbr for so long that when I saw this book at a book fair, I had to buy it. I could relate to Elle because she is such a fangirl and you know, being a fangirl when you’re a reader is more like a lifestyle than a mood. I’m so happy that I have finally read this book. I recommend it a lot!
The Bridge Kingdom (The Bridge Kingdom #1) by Danielle L. Jensen
Oh my god. This book destroyed my emotions and feelings. I need book two right now, but since this is an Audible original, it will be released as audiobook first and then it will be published as ebook and physical book, the wait will be torture. Anyway, the author new how to play with my heart. The only thing I can tell you is to read this book, I need more people to read this because I need Aren fanart so bad!
Those were all the books I read in December. Have you read any of the books mentioned? Or have you heard of some of them? Tell me all about it in the comments below!
Until the next post!
Happy reading 💙
