Hello beautiful strangers!
Another month went by and I think I’m back into a reading mood. April was the month in which the Magical Readathon took place and I’m so happy to tell you guys that I passed my OWLs, I’m on my way to becoming a Seer. I thought I was going to fail, but I didn’t and now I feel like the queen of readathons lol. Although I DNF a book that was part of my TBR for the readathon so I don’t know if I cheated somehow.
Anyway, I don’t have anything else to add, so let’s get to the wrap up!
A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic #2) by V.E. Schwab
I enjoyed this book so so much. This second book is more character driven so there weren’t much things happening although there were some plot twists that surprised me a lot. My love for Kell, Lila, Rhy and Alucard grew a lot.
A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic #3) by V.E. Schwab
I suffered so much with this book. This was the ending of the journey for this lovely characters and I was so scared for them. In the end I felt like crying because I was not going to read more about them and this magical world. Just thinking about it I want to cry and reread the series.
Field Notes on Love by Jennifer E. Smith.
This was the first book I read for my OWLs, it was for the Astronomy exam, which consisted in reading the majority of the book when it was dark outside. I didn’t love the book, but I didn’t hate it either, it was just meh.
Assassin’s Heart by Sarah Ahiers
This is the book I DNF. This was the second book for my OWLs, for the Ancient Runes exam. Trust me when I tell you that I tried so hard to get into the story and finish the book, but I couldn’t. I didn’t like the heroine, the world was a bit confusing in my opinion and it just wasn’t for me. I can’t remember now, but I think I DNF it when I got like 60% into it.
The Honey-Don’t List by Christina Lauren
Ancient Runes was about reading a book with heart on the cover or in the title, so I picked this up instead. There’s nothing more for me to tell you that I enjoyed this book a lot! I laughed and giggled a lot of times and I swoon some more and I just love Christina Lauren’s books.
Renegades (Renegades #1) by Marissa Meyer
This was the last book in my TBR for the readathon and with this I completed the Divination subject, which was to let a random number generator pick the book. I liked the story, but I liked Adrian Everheart even more.
Archenemies (Renegades #2) by Marissa Meyer
I didn’t like this second book as much as the first one. For some reason Nova annoyed the hell out of me and that made me not want to read Supernova yet. Maybe in the future. Although this cover is so pretty.
Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum
This book was in my TBR list for so long and I enjoyed it. The plot was very predictable but I still had a lot of fun reading. Some trigger warnings for this book are death of a mother, drug consumption, overdose.
His Royal Highness by R.S. Grey
This was so cute and adorable and I want my own Derek to love me like he loves Whitney. This romance was what I needed and I believe in love again. This might be my favorite book by R.S. Grey so far.
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
I managed to read this book in the last day of the month. I enjoyed this book so damn much. It’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling but somehow it felt different but at the same time it was so Beauty and the Beast. I love it and now I can’t recommend it enough.
That’s it for April. Looking back at it, April was a pretty great month, reading wise, and I’m so happy for that.
Until the next post!
Happy reading 💙
