Another month has gone by and now we’re halfway through the year. It’s unbelievable! What’s unbelievable too, is the fact that I managed to read 11 books in May. I have no idea how that happened. And also, I decided to give the Shadowhunter Chronicles another try and now I’m kind of in love with it.
Without anything more to add, here are the books I read in May!

The Man in the Black Suit by Sylvain Reynard

I had this book in my TBR list for so long. I enjoyed the book and the romance, my only problem with it is that I felt it was way too long. Other than that, I recommend it to anyone that is interested, except young readers.
Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

I’m so happy I read this book, even when it broke my heart towards the end. It was full of action and intrigue and romance. Although it was kind of predictable, I truly enjoyed it and I can’t wait to read book 2. I recommend it to anyone, especially Sci-Fi fans.
Doctor Dearest by R.S. Grey

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as others by R.S. Grey. I can’t deny the tension between the two characters, but for two adults trying to make things work between them, they were childish and that annoyed me a little bit. However, I still recommend it if you like the liking-my-best-friend’s-sister trope.
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

I watched the movie first and I liked it so I was sure I was going to like the book as well. What I didn’t expect was to like it much more than the movie. It shouldn’t be a surprise to say that the book was better. I highly recommend reading this. More than a romance book, it’s like reading gossip lol.
City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) by Cassandra Clare

I read this book years ago and didn’t like it. This time around I did and I enjoyed it a lot. I think it’s a great first book in a series. If you haven’t read this, I recommend you do if you like urban fantasy.
City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments #2) by Cassandra Clare

This second book was good, but it was so infuriating, I wanted to slap all the adults to make them see sense. By this point I already love the characters way too much.
City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments #3) by Cassandra Clare

The only way to describe this third book is that it was a rollercoaster. There are so many things at stake and the tension about everything was just too much. I almost cried happy and sad tears.
Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare

I read this trilogy like five years ago. It has been so long so of course I didn’t remember much, which was good because I was shook with almost every plot twist. Another great first book in a trilogy.
Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices #2) by Cassandra Clare

Now for the second book I remembered nothing so I was constantly surprised. Even when danger is near, there are many sweet and romantic moments. This second book was better than the first.
Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare

Just thinking about this book I feel like crying. By this point you can’t help love everyone and since this is the final book in the trilogy, everything feels nostalgic because everything wraps up so nicely but also so bittersweet. There’s a hole in my heart that will never heal thanks to this trilogy.
Not So Nice Guy by R.S. Grey

I was in need of some romance after all those emotions so this friends-to-lovers romance sounded like something I would like. I did. I actually liked so much that I wanted more chapters just to keep reading about Sam and Ian.
Wow, so many books, so many emotions. I truly enjoyed May in terms of reading. I’m taking a little break from the Shadowhunters Chronicles tho, but I’m for sure continuing with the series in July, I miss the characters a lot.
Until the next post!
Happy reading 💙
