Wrap Up

It was Christmas lol | December Wrap Up

Hello lovely friends!

I am finally posting my 2020 December wrap up! There weren’t many important things during this month but there were holidays and I got three weeks off work which was amazing and I got more reading done than I thought I would.

Due to the current situation I didn’t make something special during December nor the holidays, I stayed at home and had dinner with my family on the 24th and 31st. I ate a lot of food which at the time seemed like a good idea, now my jeans don’t agree with me lol.

Days before Christmas I decided to wrap the books I bought during November and December and put them under the tree so they were gifts from me to me lol. I had a lot of fun wrapping them in paper, although my wrapping skills suck, I think I did a pretty decent job. As expected, it took me longer to wrap them and make them look cute than tearing them open lol. It was fun though, which was the main reason why I did it.

For the last day of the year, my mom and I have this “tradition” in which we stay up all night waiting for the first sunrise of the new year. Of course 2020 was no exception so I stayed up with my mom waiting for the sun to show up but it was kind of cloudy so we couldn’t appreciate it as we wanted to, but it was bright enough for us to take some pictures from the rooftop of our house. As you can guess, I slept for the majority of January 1st so technically the year started on the 2nd for me lol.

That’s basically all the fun stuff that happened to me. I know December didn’t feel as magical as before but I’m sure there will be better Decembers for us all in the future. So don’t let your spirit and smile disappear, there has to be rain for the rainbow to appear.

Now, for the books I read during December. I honestly thought I would only read 2 books but I did a bit better than I thought so I’m proud of myself for that.

The Well of Ascension (Mistborn #2) by Brandon Sanderson

It took me a month to finish this one but I liked it. There was a lot of political elements in this second book which I didn’t like much but the last chapters were so intense and it felt like I was reading a fantasy book again. My love for these characters only grew and my heart did get broken but not as bad as with The Final Empire.

The Hero of Ages (Mistborn #3) by Brandon Sanderson

I read this one faster than the second book because what was happening here had me on the edge of my seat. There were so many things at stake and I wanted everything to go right for my favorite characters because they deserved it. I didn’t see the ending coming at all but I liked it even when I suffered a lot. This was a great series and I highly recommend it.

Marfil (Enfrentados #1) by Mercedes Ron

After all the suffering I had to go through with the previous books I wanted some intense romance. This is a mafia romance. I enjoyed it but it is not one of my favorites. There wasn’t much action, but we get to know the characters and their secrets. Sadly this book is only available in Spanish and Italian, I believe.

Ébano (Enfrentados #2) by Mercedes Ron

This is the sequel to Marfil and oh my god, it was so good! I liked it more than the first one, this one was more action-packed and darker and there are a lot of trigger warnings like sexual abuse, raping, prostitution and those horrible things so if you want to read this, please be careful. This one is also only available in Spanish and Italian.

And that’s it! December was a decent month, the year not so much lol. I’m excited for January, I can’t wait to see what books I’ll be reading and what things I’ll be doing that are worth mentioning on here.

Until the next post!

Happy reading 💙
