February books to read | TBR

Hello people!

Writing this post is a surprise to me because I am such a mood reader, but if you follow me on Twitter, you might know I always struggle with what book to read next and I think setting a TBR for the month might help me a lot with that problem.

I want to make it clear that I won’t force myself to read these books during the month so I won’t be punishing myself or something like that if I don’t read all of them. The purpose of this list is to have options on what to read whenever I have no idea what I’m in the mood for. And I also want to say that I’ll be playing TBR games because they are fun and I enjoy watching them on Youtube so I’m going to be trying some of them out.

Since I am starting this in February, I decided to play Becca’s bookopoly first. I actually used the board that she created for her readathon in 2020, it is so much and if you haven’t watch her videos, I highly recommend you do!

I will only pick 3 or 4 books at most because this is only a guide and I don’t usually read more than 5 or 6 books a month (unless I’m in a very good reading mood, then I might read more than that), so having more than 4 books is excessive for me and my personal reading habits.

I think I already said everything you have to know on this new change. I’ll try to keep this going for the whole year but once again, I don’t want to stress myself so let’s see how long this lasts lol. Anyway, I’ve said more than enough so let’s get to my TBR.

I already rolled the dice so these are the books I chose based on the prompt I fell on the board.

Legendborn by Tracy Deonn

The first roll was 7 so I landed on Chance. In here I had to choose 16 books. Supposedly I had to pick 8 books I am excited to read and 8 books I am not as excited to read, however, since I bought a lot of books last year, I decided to put some of the books I have in my physical TBR and a few I’ve seen on the book community that I can’t wait to read. I used the help of a random number generator to pick only one from the 16 books and Legendborn was the winner.

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

For the second roll I got 7 again and I landed on LGBTQ+ REP. I had a few options for this prompt but I opted for Red, White & Royal Blue because I’ve seen mixed opinions on the book community about it that I’m not completely sure if I want to read it, so I thought this was a great opportunity for me to maybe finally pick it up and see if I’d like it or not.

Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen

For the third roll I got 8 and landed on Chance again lol. I did the same thing that I did for the first roll and Dark Shores was the winner.

Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova

For the fourth and final roll I landed on Fire On Cover. I have to confess I had kind of a hard time because I couldn’t find a cover with fire on it that I wanted to read, then I did a double check on my Goodreads TBR and found this book.

I am truly excited about these books I might read in February. Again, I don’t know if I’ll even read any of these in the first place but the possibility is there and I hope this will be fun and helpful.

Tell me, do you plan monthly TBRs? If so, do you stick to them?

Until the next post!

Happy reading 💙
